Frequently
Asked Questions
Do
you manufacture?
No, D&D is not a manufacturer. We operate a
complex network of manufacturing partners who have
individual strengths and specialties. We manage
these relationships through a professional
procurement, engineering and quality team. D&D
takes the responsibility of the manufacturer and
provides you with a seamless transition and full
accountability for product integrity.
Why don't you operate a manufacturing facility
of your own?
Our team members have diverse backgrounds. We
have been involved in production facility
management, quality control, engineering, and
distribution. Our experience has led us to one
common agreement - you do not need to operate your
own facility in order to provide top-notch service
and quality. Quite to the contrary, the
distractions of day-to-day factory management leads
to a lack of concentration on the flexibility
required to achieve a customer's goals.
Furthermore, we can rely on a core group of
manufacturers in our vendor base who possess unique
and specialized capabilities, ones that we could
not replicate in house without an infusion of
significant capital and time. At D&D, we prefer
to apply our resources towards building
professional units and departments staffed with
goal-oriented and performance-oriented technicians.
We rely on experts in their respective fields to
work with us in design and production.
Are you a trading company?
Absolutely not! A trading company buys and
sells product, typically on the basis of cost. We
provide a total solution based on a thorough
understanding of the critical aspects of the
product needs and then we put together a team to
complete the task at hand. D&D is a service
organization that offers strategic procurement and
development. We never sacrifice quality and product
specifications based on cost.
Are you competitive?
Of course. We work and operate in the most
competitive manufacturing environment in the world!
Not only can China provide the cost effective labor
force needed for high value product, but a vast
support network of component sub-contractors
allowing for efficient production cycles and a
rapid time to market.
Can you do anything, regardless of project
volume, size and/or the degree of
sophistication?
No. No. No. If you have spent any amount in
time in Asia in the area of purchasing, product
development or sourcing, you will find that it is
extremely difficult for the local manufacturing
sector not to say "yes". The tendency among many
vendors in Asia is to see "no" as a display of
incompetence or an admission of defeat. We see it
another way. Having been involved in sales and
distribution for years, we understand that it is
more important to realize your limitations and
admit them than to lead a prospective partner or
customer into believing that you can achieve a goal
that you are not prepared for. If we feel that any
specific project or procurement goal is not within
our abilities, we will definitely communicate this
fact to the client.
I've had bad experiences in Asian sourcing. How
can you make me change my mind?
Contact us, allow us to review your needs and
we will offer you a proposal and the benefits
afforded to your organization through working with
D&D. Our multi-lingual staff is always at your
service.
OK, I'm convinced but can you give me real-time
assistance as well?
If you are based in Europe or North America, we
have sales, distribution and contact points in
Germany and in the United States who would be glad
to assist in communication, transition,
translation, trade logistics and inventory
management.
